Indiana Haunters - for Halloween and Haunt Enthusiasts - 2013-09-13-What-Are-Members-Doing

What are active members doing this October 2013?

Sharron threw another Indy Haunt Fest (https://www.facebook.com/groups/232609993503903/) this past May at Heidi’s place, south side of Indianapolis. All had fun as seen in these pictures (http://www.indianahaunters.com/index.php/menu-indy-haunt-fest)

Heidi (and kids Hope & Noah and parents Jim & Linda) are working hard on her home haunt, “Haunt Out Hunger” (http://www.hauntouthunger.com/), south (3650 E. Thompson Road) side of Indianapolis . The haunt is a non-profit haunt, supporting Hunger, Inc (http://www.hungerinc.org/) food pantry. Entrance to the haunt is a can good.

For this year, I believe she is continuing her Twisted Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes theme started last year. This year, she has been working on a Princess and the Pea scene where she has procedure a steel frame bunk bed and is planning on making a column high set of mattresses for the actor/actress to sit atop. I’ve seen her work on a huge man eating plant prop, constructed with several pneumatic air cylinders, including a rotary one. Prop is supported upright by a basketball goal, well at least the bottom half and base that you fill with sand.

Jose is working hard on a professional haunt, “The Angelus” (http://www.500grim.com/) on the east (8829 E. Washington St) side of Indianapolis. A non-profit haunt benefiting a house/home with the same name (http://www.theangelus.com/) in Florida for kids with cerebral palsy. The haunt is one of the only wheel chair accessible haunts in the nation. This year, the haunt has been expanded from 5K square feet to 10K square. Jose works on the haunt in his spare time (all of the time), donating his time for the cause.

Cindy is working hard on her new Halloween Store, Monsters R.I.P. (http://www.monstersrip.com/) in the middle (7235 N Keystone Ave) of Indianapolis. Sharron has helped out since day 1 and continues to work in the store on a weekly basis. Linda, Heidi’s mom has also started at the store. A new set of props just arrived this week, like Christmas in Sept.

Rex, Troy, Stacey and Trish (part of the Indianapolis sinister League (https://www.facebook.com/groups/316483445076031/)) are working hard on their Haunted Loft and Corn Maze at Piney Acers Farm (https://www.facebook.com/PineyAcresFarm) in Fortville. Last year the loft wasn’t able to open due to county town folk, but this year they have the green light and are looking for help.

Mike is working hard on his Haunted Trail called the Horror Trail (http://horrortrail.com/) in Hagan Park, South Whitley county Indiana (Ft. Wayne area). Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Horror-Trail-at-Hagan-Park/255562871236650). I’m hoping to see some pictures of Mike in a purple gorilla costume!

Kirby is working hard on his home haunt/party with a theme/name of “Cannibal Clown Café”. He and his family bought some pretty intense clown masks at the Midwest Haunters Convention this year!

Dave finished work on his Home Depot Style Challenge. Home Depot donated some Halloween items for Dave to build something with… and write a blog about. I’m having trouble finding the blog, has it been written yet? Anyway, here is some of Dave’s work on the “Shadow Farm”. Jim continues his stardom on the popular YouTube webcast “Haunters Hangout”. Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/380659548718142/?ref=22)  and YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/deoblo85?feature=watch)

Pat and Marty, I’m pretty sure, are booked to perform Ghost Stories and show off their“Gags” at the annual Halloween Weekend at Tippecanoe River State Park (http://www.riversidecanoes.com/index.php?option=com_events&task=view_detail&agid=107&year=2013&month=10&day=25&Itemid=74).

I’ve missed a bunch, but will get caught up soon with the rest of the group. Happy Halloween 2013 !
